As the Universal Church celebrated World Day for Consecrated Life on February 2, Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, it was our joy to welcome 55 religious Sisters from eleven different congregations to celebrate the occasion together at our Home. Our residents graciously ceded the use of the chapel to our visitors for the morning, all the while delighting in this wonderful array of religious Sisters among us, reflecting the varied charisms which God bestows within the consecrated life.
A morning reception and a lovely Eucharistic talk were followed by Holy Mass, which included a “Renewal of Commitment” prayed together by all the Sisters, the event then concluding with a festive meal — for which our devoted volunteers served as hostesses. All of the Sisters were overjoyed to have this opportunity to be together, and it is our prayer that many of today’s young women will experience the same joy that comes from saying “Yes” to God’s invitation to the consecrated religious life.
