“Sun and Moon, Praise the Lord!”
(Psalm 148:3)
… And praise the Lord they did, as we watched the splendor of the solar eclipse from our front patio on the afternoon of April 8. Although solar eclipse glasses were out of supply almost everywhere, we were blessed to receive four pair, which we gladly shared with one another so that all of us could take turns seeing this spectacular event. A total eclipse actually occurred and could be seen from some areas not far away, but with only a tiny sliver of the sun still visible at its peak from our own vantage point, our view of it was still truly magnificent.
As we went back inside afterward, marveling at the beauty of God’s creation, did we discard our solar eclipse glasses? No – we handed them in for “recycling” to a location where they will take on new life in the hands of under-served children in their science classes.
“One generation to the next will praise your works.” (Psalm 145:4)
